The BDN Level 2 Teaching Diploma

Our Level 2 Teaching Diploma has been running for nearly 30 years (previously as JWAAD and now as BDN).  The support from teachers as well as the online resources ensures you have an amazing journey through the Diploma which is aimed at making you the best you can be in your field. Because it is in modular format, you can plan your study to suit your lifestyle. BDN Teachers are highly trained and this shows in their well-structured and inspirational classes.

Getting started

To start your journey towards the BDN Teaching Diploma, your personal technique should be of Lower Intermediate Level or above, and you need to have a Technique Review with a BDN mentor, either as part of the Level 1 Teaching Certification or taken on your own initiative. It is possible to work on and develop your technique as you study with us so that when you complete the diploma, you will be at the required level. If you are going to one of our events such as the Fantasia Festival, you can discuss further with our teachers on the BDN stall how best to plan your personal journey through our Teaching Diploma. Alternatively, you can book a 20-minute mentoring session, online or in person, to discuss the options available. You can email info@bellydance-now.com with your details to arrange this. Course structure

The majority of the course components are now available to study online, which means you can study with us wherever you are. Once you are registered for the Level 2 Teaching Diploma you will receive all the information about the best way to start your journey.

All the courses are constantly reviewed and updated. There are 4 units in total:

We recommend that you complete the Level 1 Teaching Certification, but understand this is not always possible.

We have designed the courses/units to dovetail into each other and to provide complete training at a professional level so that dancers can work with confidence and expertise.

Why should I do the BDN Level 2 Teaching Diploma?

Our teacher training is more in-depth than most, but it is also designed to make you the best in your field. You learn so much about the music, background, history, culture, technique and more …. Your students will have an extremely knowledgeable teacher. You also learn about safety – of vital importance – particularly if you start teaching workshops and things further afield where you don’t always know your students.  Best of all, you hone your teaching skills, and you can apply the techniques learned to give dynamic and inspirational classes that students want to return to.
