More about our Summer School 25 project with Brenda Diaz
Alongside this, Brenda will explore how a dancer develops a full Cairo show. She will take you on a journey and focus on each element in turn: The Magency, a Saidi Tableau designed for kabare, Taxim Baladi and finish with a Tabla solo.
You will present the Tableau at the theatre show. Brenda will explain how she developed the tableau and the history behind why dancers incorporate tableaux within their set.
A great opportunity to both inform and develop your dance.
More about Brenda
Brenda has wowed Cairo audiences at different 5 star venues in Cairo for the last 8 years. Brenda started her dance journey in Argentina with Amir Thaleb then went on to establish herself as a solo artist in her own right. She describes moving to Cairo and starting work there as a baptism of fire. But as she found her way – and a better manager – she became much sought after. Brenda loves the artistic freedom to create her own shows. She particularly loves performing at Randas festivals. The Gala shows give the opportunity to present something really special. Which is what Brenda wants to do with this project.
