Live music option – single room
4 day option: 15 – 19th August 2025
- At our week long summer school, we have different options.
- 4 day option with access to over 40 hours of classes at different levels in different styles (not including Brenda Diaz project) but you have access to all the other classes including the live music classes.
- 4 day option – focus on live music – culminates in our ‘Bellydance music Embodied’ certification. For this you need to register with us once you book and attend specific classes focussing on music. When there are no classes specified you can join in the rest of the timetable.
Arrive Friday 15th August, Depart Tuesday 19th August 2025
4 days – all accommodation and meals provided. All tuition (over 40 hours of classes to choose from), shows and party nights included. This is great value at our early bird rate of £595 in single room.
It includes 40 hours of classes to choose from – some with live music, some without. From fun and quirky options to those that challenge and inform. Classes with live music, amazing teachers and a hafla with the option to perform. This will really make a difference to your dance. Expect to go home inspired!
If you want to focus on music and complete the ‘in person’ part of our certified music course ‘Bellydance Music Embodied’ …. you have to attend specific workshops:
Arrive Friday from 2pm. Join in our ice breaker classes Friday evening to meet everyone at Summer school.
Saturday: Introductions and recognising rhythms: Rhythm interpretation: Playing basic rhythms with Tim Garside: Creating a drum solo.
We have our weekend Saturday night hafla to let your hair down and party!
Sunday: 3 classes focussing on different styles and introducing different singers and composers to your repertoire. The last class will break down a magency looking at the rhythms and styles within it. We have a fascinating talk on Sunday evening – the subject of which has not been confirmed.
Monday: Recognising Instruments then nearly 4 hours working with our band putting theory into practice.
Tuesday: A morning class looking at your musical route map and the way forward. Depart after lunch.
Your tutors: Yasmina of Cairo, Josephine Wise, Brenda Diaz and Kay Taylor
If you do not want to do the certified music course you can still join the classes that interest you but you can also choose other workshops from the main timetable.
This option doesn’t not include the project with Brenda Diaz but it does include options at all levels.

If you are doing this as the culmination of our on line music course ‘Bellydance Music Explored’ there are certain classes you have to attend. We highly recommend you do work through our on line course in advance of doing the in person music course at summer school as it will give you a good grounding to work from. If not you can go to whichever you fancy.
